Reader Interface Help

After you plug your Reader Interface into the serial port of your computer and you have configured the comm port just as the manual explained how to, and you then find the Reader Interface is not working check the following.

Start Temprecord for Windows software and observe the power LED on the Reader Interface it should glow red once Temprecord for Windows software has been started.

If the power LED on the Reader does not illuminate go to the Options / Comm port menu and select another comm port from the list (comm 1 to comm 4) and then try the Reader Interface again.

If that fails and you still have no power to Reader check that there are no other applications running in the background that are using the same comm port resources that Temprecord for Windows wants to use.

If another application such as Palm desktop manager is running close it and then try the Reader Interface again.

The icons down in the right hand corner next to the clock are programs that are running in the background on your PC.

If necessary go to the Options / Comm port menu again and select another comm port from the list (comm 1 to comm 4) and then try the Reader Interface again.

Comm 2 is the most commonly used comm port used with the Reader Interface.
